SECURITY OFFICER Meadowbank Complex – Near Baker Lake, Nunavut (FLY-IN FLY-OUT)

Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department. You will coordinate the security sector of the Health & Safety Department and ensures good security practices in terms of the road, building, gold and employee security, as well as playing an important role in investigations, policy conception, gold security logistics, and security communication. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Patrol the camp site on foot and the mine site/roads in a vehicle and on AWAR;

  • Supervise the Amaruq’s Security Officers, and Baker Lake’s Security Guards working at the gate house;
  • Respond to various incidents and emergencies;
  • Follow rules, procedures, and protocols;
  • Conduct proper investigations into security incidents;
  • Gather evidence and ensure proper handling of exhibits;
  • Produce internal reports and provide feedback on incidents and investigations;
  • Foster good relationships with other employees and liaise with the local communities and authorities;
  • Lead and coordinate emergency operations with other emergency services.
Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
