PASSING OF RETIRED VPD MEMBER
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of retired VPD Staff Sergeant 945 Tom CARROLL who passed away on October 9, 2021 at the age of 81.
Tom joined the VPD August 11, 1969 and retired May 1, 2000. During his service, Tom worked in Patrol, Detention and Services Section, Dog Squad, Communications, Special Investigation – Fraud Squad, Chief’s Office – Internal Investigation, C.L.E.U., OCABC, and the Investigation Unit. He is survived by his seven children, one of whom is Inspector Travis Carroll, a past VPD Reserve Constable, currently serving with the Port Moody Police Department. Tom’s wife is retired VPD Constable Sharan Carroll.
He will be sadly missed.
