Programs Designed for Veterans – ACE for PTSD & ADHD
We wanted to share information about two new virtual programs available to Veterans in BC and Nova Scotia through the Centre of Clinical Excellence for Veterans and First Responders Health.
The Attention and Cognitive Enhancement (ACE) for PTSD and ACE for ADHD programs are psychiatrist-led, two-phase programs specifically designed to support Veterans in improving cognitive function, managing symptoms, and building practical skills for everyday life.
Both programs are fully virtual and may be eligible for full coverage through K Number benefits.
ACE for PTSD
A trauma-informed program tailored to improve attention, memory, and executive function skills for individuals living with PTSD.
- What’s included:
✔ Virtual cognitive assessment
✔ One-on-one evaluation with a psychiatrist
✔ Phase One: Twice weekly educational and practical sessions focused on building tools to manage PTSD symptoms and improve day-to-day functioning
✔ Phase Two: Once weekly group counselling sessions including guided emotional processing, peer support, and deeper integration of strategies from Phase OneACE for ADHD
A structured, Veteran-focused program that provides education, tools, and support to manage ADHD symptoms and improve executive function.
- What’s included:
✔ Virtual cognitive assessment
✔ One-on-one evaluation with a psychiatrist
✔ Phase One: Twice-weekly sessions covering ADHD education, treatment options, executive function skills, and lifestyle strategies
