RCMPVA – Vancouver Division – Volunteers Needed
The RCMP Veterans Association Vancouver Division is seeking volunteers to step forward and help with the Executive. Volunteering is a rewarding experience as you give back and help make an enjoyable place to socialize with former workmates, and or those you have a common bond with.
We recently thanked Veteran David Attfield for stepping forward and he has taken over the Honour Guard. The Guard will be changed shortly on the web site as to what the Veterans will provide if requested for a funeral or celebration of life. All positions on the Executive are looking for a shadow person to come onto the Executive and shadow an area that you might be interested in. Additionally we are looking for volunteers to join the Support and Advocacy Team (Note: if you are detail oriented and enjoy helping others this will appeal to you, and training will be developed within the next months)Do you have experience in web site maintenance and security? If so, we really need your help. Our web site is in need of a clean up, and changes to many areas.Lastly we are looking for a Veteran out in Abbotsford or Chilliwack to fill the vacancy that Veteran Art Hoivik left. Art was strategic in getting the luncheons organized in Chilliwack that provided us with a lot of good times. What this position does is provide the liaison between the Veterans and the supplier of the venue and catering company. Art and myself will help as needed but we need someone to be the primary contact. If you are interested please contact me.Murray MachamRCMP Veterans AssociationVancouver DivisionVice President, Support & Advocacy.
