MUSICAL RIDE PRESENTATION AUGUST 29 and 30, 2026

For those attending this event, there has been a misunderstanding regarding the start time on August 29, 2026.  It starts at 3PM.  Some tickets and the website show a different time,

but the event starts at 3PM.

Today I met with the OIC Langley Detachment Supt. Harm Dosange, and two members of their organizing committee.  Saturday, August 29, 2026, is the Detachment’s big day, as they are hosting an open house on the Thunderbird Arena grounds.  They have all their equipment ready for display, members will be in attendance to discuss their special area, and you might even be lucky enough to pick up a challenge coin.  This all starts at 11AM and goes through to the start of the musical ride show.

Thunderbird Arena, 24550 72 Avenue, Langley, BC

Tickets for this event are sold out, but the free area is large and will accommodate everyone.  And you will have a good view of the show.  The weather forecast shows a nice day, so wear a hat.  For those needing handicap parking, you can apparently enter the main area from 248 Street, and the traffic group will direct you appropriately.

In discussions with Supt. Dosange, he will ensure that the RCMP Veterans present are recognized immediately before he takes the salute from the Ride Commander.  You will be asked to stand for that acknowledgment.  After the show, he would enjoy meeting with the veterans to take a group picture with the Ride.

Please also note that Cst. Peter Mann of the Langley Detachment is the point person on this and I owe him a big thank you.  He is aware that several of us are planning to attend this event; if you see him, give him a thumbs up.  But the last time I was in public with him it was a paws up from a good looking suit.

It looks like a pleasant day to enjoy something different, bring back a few memories from years past, and acknowledge the current members who still serve and protect our community.  I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this event; please come over and say hello.  (I’m the one with an oxygen tube)
